Incubate: brat pack + birds of a feather + kid pang
Little Devil, Tilburg
Entree: Incubate
Fri Sep 18: Incubate Friday (v.a. 20.00 uur)
Incubate, Friday bands at LittleDevil:
20:00 - 20:45 Kid Pang are like a hybrid paella from the sunny south east, in that the chefs and ingredients have changed from time to time, but there’s a constant that retains the soul of the dish. After a few changes to our line-up and sound, the band changed their name to ‘Lakes’ and under the same name and line-up, released a self-titled e.p. (2007) and a split with Zettasaur (2008) on Signature Tune followed by a split on Unlabel (2008). Zouk, div-core.
21:15 - 22:00 Manatees (UK). Darkness. Thick layers of filthy blackness. Doom, metal.
22:30 - 23:00 Birds Of A Feather is ready. Watch out for 80-ies style, youth crew sing-along hardcore, bringing an ever urgent message for a positive lifestyle and a better society. With the same drive to get out the message as in the 80-ies and 90-ies. To show that straight edge is not "a passing phase". To show that hardcore is not a passing phase. To prove that our ideals still matter, and still need work. Right then and right now: "The days that we lived our dreams are over And the barriers are tougher than before 20 years passed by and we are back again The way it was supposed to give meaning What was said, what we believed In the past What we said and still believe Counts even more today". Hardcore, straight-edge.
00:00 - 00:45 Brat Pack (NL). Hailing from the eastern part of The Netherlands comes Brat Pack: a punk rock band that you would expect from the western and sunny side of California. With ex- and current members of Beans, Antillectual, My Reply and Citizens Patrol they have a lot of experience in playing pure and uncut punk. Influenced by RKL, early NOFX, Adolescents and DI, they teamed up early 2006, for pure Westcoast hardcore punk worship. Think lots of speed and melody.
