Thee Spivs were formed in Hackney, East London in 2007 by founding members Ben Edge and Steve Coley. Since then the band has taken on various line up changes, most recently seeing Dan May who joined the band in 2008 being replaced by the freshly recruited Daniel Husayn in 2012.
In 2009 Thee Spivs released their debut single ‘It’s True’ on 1965 records and signed to Damaged goods the following year. They have since released two full length albums ‘Taped up’ and ‘Black and White Memories’ as well as three 7” singles (I Don’t Want It, Radio and TV Screen) Radio’ was named as one of the best songs of 2010 by radio one DJ, Huw Stevens who the band have since recorded a Maida vale session for.
The Trio have toured extensively throughout Europe playing everywhere from public toilets, to boat parties and to packed out festival audiences. There are more exciting ventures ahead for Thee Spivs as they will be back out in Europe to promote their latest album ‘Black and White Memories’ as well as a string of UK dates throughout the year. They are also playing this year's legendary Rebellion festival in Blackpool.
In case you are already hungry for new Spivs material you will be pleased to know that the band have already started work on a new single that is due out this summer and have also began writing their third album that is planned for release in early 2013. So Spivs fans can be assured, there is plenty more to come.
