Silver - World against world
After the succes of their debut 'White diary' the Norwegian rockers are back with 'World against world'. This is the kinda stuff I luv to review. The glamrock has changed drastically! The boys injected a serious amount of punkrock and heavieness into their sound. The whole album sounds very heavy. At first, it's really hard to digest, gotta give it a few spins. The intro and outro's are creating a dark atmosphere that I think the band was after...the cool artwork is done that same way.
First track 'Homesick' is awesome! I got flashbacks to Turbonegro's 'Apocalypse dudes' straight away, in fact the denim demon's are never far away on 'world against world'. But it's the backing vocals and the choruses that makes the band stand out from their peers. Beautiful melodies are lifting 'Son of sam', 'field of blood' and 'tormentors' to great heights.
Rock 'n roll, punkrock, metal and straight up glam are thrown into a blender and Silver delivers it first class. Some of the bands that popped up in my mind were Turbonegro, AFI, Mötley Crüe, Lars Frederiksen and the bastards and more... yup, original stuff!
the bonustrack 'hold fast' is the only song that doesn't fit the dark image that the band was looking for...sounds like a fuckin' irish Dropkick tune.
Another cool release!!! Can't get it outta my player!
