Mark Lind - Death or jail

A modern day troubadour…that’s what Mark Lind is and I love the man for it! Or…Bruce Springsteen playing punkrock…how about that one? Gotta open up your wallet and buy ‘Death or jail’ people…I know, I know…the new Ducky Boys album ‘The war back home’ has just been released and money’s tight…but you just gotta get this album! There’s not a big difference between the man’s solo sound and the last Ducky Boys stuff but again Mark managed to write the perfect streetrock tunes. From opener ‘Times forgotten’ through ‘No future (death or jail)’ to the best songs on this record ‘Better days’ and especially ‘The lonely people’ it’s all gold the man touches. That last fucker's haunting me for days now. The organs are way cool and give the song that superb atmosphere. Should’ve used the organ on some more tracks! The lyrics won’t surprise ya if you know the Ducky Boys/Dirty Water history…words of oppression, sadness, love, the working class, Boston… All them songs are sweet and instantly give that ‘this is BAD-ASS’ feeling. Take your car for a ride, open up all the windows, comb your hair back, and look cool on ‘Sadly beautiful’, ‘For Frank’, ‘Whatever road’ and ‘Jealousy’. Punkrock’n roll all the way! I sincerely hope Mr. Lind keeps on writing at this speed so I can get another release next month ;)…. UP!
