The story began inWinter`95. as Hallejan, Smail and Benny met to play a bit of good old punkrock. Slaughter and the Dogs, Damned and The Ramones were on the line up. That kicked arse and The Shocks began to play some of their own stuff.
They went into the studio in spring `96 and recorded with help from Christian Steifen, founder of Attack Records, their first 7 inch titled `Too many kicks in `96`.
After a few gigs in Germany the bassist Benny decided he had had enough and left the band.
They continued in 1997 with a new bass player who brought with him a new influence.
From then on was... Smail - voc/git, Don Lotzo - bass/voc, Hallejan- drums.
They played many gigs in Germany, Switzerland, Belgium and Holland and recorded at the beginning of 1999 a new 7 inch titled `Holiday on Zyklon bay`.
They played here and there and a single was released on the`Berlin compilation `Late on the gate` (www.berlin-punk.de).
The Shocks then recorded their 3rd 7 inch in their practice room.
The drummer Hallejan left town and because of this The Shocks were forced to have a break.
In Summer 2001 they found a new guy for the job named Alex and hell broke loose!!
The first album `More cuts for you in zero 2`was released in spring 2002. As an LP on Attack Records and CD on Dirty Faces.
Since all 3 EPS are sold out they are planning on releasing them soon, together as an LP.
In spring of 2003 they released a lp / cd called "bored to be in zero 3 " on dirty faces records.in the end of the year there was planed a westcoast tour with the briefs and the epoxies but the immigrationofficers of seattle send us back to germany.
In October 2003 we've toured with Terrorgruppe/Movement over South Germany/Switzerland/Austria .
In December 2003 we released a split single with the Shakin Nasties.
We plan for spring 2004 a split single with The Briefs and a single called
"Banned from the USA".
The Shocks vocals, in comparison to other 77 punk bands are in german due to their english ability. Afterall they did'nt speak english in the sandpit! Mom gave them shit in german!!
