Mercy killers - Bloodlove
Yup, this is a 2006 album, but again, it's never been reviewed on punx.nl, so what the hell...
Mercy killers released 'Bloodlove' around the same time they did the split with 'Enemy rose' from Belgium. First thing that I noticed is that the album only has 10 songs. No problem if the tracks are cool, but 'Lust for hope', 'End transmission' and 'I'm not wasted' are also on the split...That's a bummer...
But, no worries about the quality, Mercy killers manages to sound very original with their mix of dark punkrock love songs like 'lust for hope', 'bloodlove' and 'Wash over me' and UK punkrock a la The Jam and The Clash. The more you listen to it, the better it gets...that's why 10 songs is a bloody shame!
Ex-members of bands like 'The forgotten' and 'Lars frederiksen and the bastards' are no reference here...Mercy killers sounds nothing like those bands. I think horrorpunk fans might dig this to!!
Gotta get it!! Finally another Hellcat release that stands out!
Score: 86/100
