Time Again - The stories are true
Ok, are you a punkrocker longing for something new and want to hear an original sound?
Or are you happy as long as it sounds good, has a cool image and sounds like a hundred bands sounded before? If you fit the first profile I’m giving this cd 0 points. Now get outta this review.
So, you want to hear more? and consider yourself member of profile number 2?
Ok, Time Again was signed to Hellcat records by Tim Armstrong (Rancid) himself. Now, it don’t matter if you’re talented or not, if you’re on hellcat you automatically have the whole punkrock scene’s attention. Ok, I started this review on a bad note, haven’t I?
‘The stories are true’ has two faces…great melodies, great sing-a-long backings and none of that awful ska. But…singer Daniel doesn’t even make an effort to sing…god fuckin’ dammit how more can you copycat another person?? I mean…damn!! In ‘Junkies’,‘the stories are true’ and 'Fountain and formosa' I can hardly stop myself from pushing the ‘next’ button and my meal starts to turn in my stomach... I can’t stand that kinda vocals, you know the nagging, out of tune kinda Tim Armstrong vibe…brrrr...what a fuckin’ nag!
But...the songs are great, the production’s great, that’s what bugs me! So mixed feelings…
I'm still wrestling my ass of with this record! How about you?
Score: 65/100
