Hudson Falcons - Singles collection 1997-2002
Street Anthem made a smart move signing Mark Linskey and his Falcons last year. The Singles collection is their first release on the philadelphia-based label. Everything the band had on tape, except for full-lenghts, between 1997 and 2002 made it on this cd. The 'Hudson Falcons/The GC5' split, The 'Hudson Falcons/Blood for blood' split 7", other 7"s and various songs from compilations were used to compile this album.
Fantastic songs like 'Who's talkin' shit', 'Rich kids can't play rock 'n roll', '26+6=1' and 'Revolution' are awesome pieces of working class punk'n roll. Mark's musical influences are pretty obvious listening to their versions of Rolling Stones, Johnny Thunders and the heartbreakers, Bruce Springsteen and Devil Dogs classics. Kick-ass!
In a scene where everything is based on 'image' and well...image, Mark is thé anti-hero and one of the nicest people I've ever met. This guy lives and breeds rock 'n roll. Gotta check out The Falcons and while your at it, keep a close eye to the man's solo carreer as well, he's about to release a solo-album in the near future! This Singles collection is your call to check out this band!
Hail Hail, god bless the Falcons!
Score: 90/100
