Somewhere between the gutter and the streets, somewhere between a stinking pub and a hangover: There’s the place where you will find the "Monotones".
4 screaming motherfuckers who were sick and tired of all the shitty music in their environment. And so they came up with an idea to start at the base of modern music: Rock 'n' Roll!!! Rock n roll in it’s most pure form: stinky, rotten and fucked up. In one word: effective.
The band was first formed by Gibson and Thijs but they found out that they needed a singer too complete their rock n roll inferno. So they asked Boye to join them for completion. But still they felt something was missing. The search for a female bass player was started and almost one year later the girl of all monotone dreams was found. Stunning Eva was thrown into their struggle. A struggle where the cards are played in a different way.
A struggle with 4 winners: Gibson behind his drum kit, Thijs torturing his six string, Eva barricading in the bassline, and Boye bringing the message of sex, drugs and Rock‘n’Roll.
Their live set is one full of energy, a fight between the exploding mind and the ability of the body. A very good reaction came from the crowd at several stages in The Netherlands. A four track EP, named “Adrenaline Drunk ”, was recorded and released at the beginning of 2004. The title refers to the state of being during live concerts. New material was recorded in the first week of 2005 which is released in may as the “Born To Be A Slut ep”.
This is how Rock ’n’ Roll life should be.
